In my random internet surfing, I've come upon many, many comments by other women about how reading about complaints regarding being pregnant really sucks, especially when they have had miscarriages or infertility issues. Hence, I've cease and desisted on complaining to anyone other than my husband about how much more difficult this pregnancy has been than with Declan. Hardly anybody reads this blog though, so I shall vent freely here. Pregnancy with Declan was hard, to the point where I was pretty much done with ever having another kid biologically. There are those who say that each pregnancy is different, however, and I stupidly construed that to mean it could be easier the next time around.
Nope. I'm not sure why the side of my stomach started feeling the way it still is, but the sharp pain took my breath away when I tried to lie down on my side yesterday afternoon. The pain persisted for so long and so strongly that I wondered if I was having a placenta rupture. No blood though, so maybe it's just sciatic nerve pinching? I haven't told my parents because they tend to freak out at the smallest provocation, but if this continues, I will have to request medical examination. For now, I have to stand up straight and tall in order to take a deep breath without pain coming from the right side of my abdominal area.
Ugh, I really do hate being pregnant. Truly, never again.
I love your pregnancy rants. Most pregnant women are so positive and self-important and never miss an opportunity to remind you they are growing a HUMAN in their belly. I love your honesty about hating being pregnant.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm ready now to have kids, but it hasn't happened naturally in the five years I've been with my husband, so maybe I would feel differently if I found out we couldn't have kids.
No, I'm whiny and paranoid enough already and I love all kids. I would just adopt and bypass the whole giving birth thing.
Oh good! There might be more rants where that came from. :P I have much to learn from positive pregnant women/moms. I'm sure their fetuses absorb better hormones and the subsequent kids also probably appreciate that more. But it's kind of being married. Sometimes things just *suck*, you know? And I like knowing the full spectrum.
DeleteThat's HUGE that you feel ready to have kids. And that you love all kids. I don't know if I ever would have felt ready, and I'm sad to say I only like kids I got to know, usually under duress (like I agreed to babysit because their parents needed help)...I let my husband's love for kids override my hesitation because I have a feeling that if we wait for me to come around, it might take until I'm 40 or something. You sound like someone who should be a parent, biologically or otherwise (while the fact that I am sometimes feels like a bit of a wry joke I share with God). I hope everything works out for you!
