Of course it's not ideal for my son and me to be apart from his father and my husband for 3.5 years except for visits, but then I think about my son learning only simplified Chinese, or the education and environmental dangers he'll most likely be exposed to. Not to mention any future kids of ours.
Why did we pass up on the position in Israel, or Philadelphia, or even Paris possibly if he hadn't withdrawn his application once these other offers came through?
